Most of the second minute of the fight was spent trying to escape from Lock-Jaw's jaws. When Yeti managed to escape, it didn't take long before Lock-Jaw had clamped its drum again, and this time took Yeti to the screws.

Sparks fly when both robots collide.Yeti damaged Lock-Jaw's primary weapon with its spinning drum and tried to escape with its lifting forks, but its rear got caught onto Lock-Jaw's jaws and pushed it under the pulverizer. Toward the end of the first minute, Lock-Jaw stopped Yeti's drum for the first time and got its jaws onto Yeti's spinning drum. These hits did some damage to one of the front wheels of Lock-Jaw, but it was still moving. Yeti started strong with some good hits on Lock-Jaw and flipped it multiple times with its spinning drum. Yeti's first ever match in BattleBots was against Donald Hutson's Lock-Jaw. Yeti flips Lock-Jaw with its spinning drum. Yeti was shown in the trailer for Discovery Season 6, but only for its hero shots. Upgrades include but were not limited to longer forks which could now retract into slots in the top panel, a more compact chassis, slightly smaller wheels and the option to swap the aforementioned forks out for a steep wedge configuration, allowing the drum to be the first point of contact against opponents. For Discovery Season 6, Yeti was redesigned from the ground up but keeping the same principles which Yeti became known for in previous seasons. Christian Carlberg had previously competed in the modern era with OverDrive and Mecha Rampage, as well as becoming a staple of Comedy Central BattleBots with robots such as Minion and OverKill.

Yeti did not return for Discovery Season 5 as Greg Gibson and his family moved to California to start a new job, and were not in a position to upgrade the robot.Īhead of Discovery Season 6, Greg Gibson enlisted the help of Team Coolrobots, with he and Christian Carlberg becoming co-captains of the team. Yeti once again did well in Season 4 where it once again went 3-1 in the Fight Card rounds, only losing a Main Event to the reigning champion Bite Force, and won its Play-in match against DUCK! to earn a spot in the Round of 16 where it got destroyed by DeathRoll. It again received new graphical artwork, ditching the blue theme almost entirely in favor of a black and white design. However, the drum weapon was narrower and its weapon chain was more exposed. Yeti went 3-1 in the Fight Card rounds, only losing a Main Event to Icewave, but fell short of the previous year by losing to Whiplash in the Top 16.įor Discovery Season 4, Yeti received another new frame, after the last one kept warping during its fights. Joe Sena joined the team, who had previously competed as part of Wrecks in both ABC seasons of BattleBots. Aesthetically, Yeti also had new top panel art and larger front wheels to clamber over opponents. It featured 13" diameter front wheels, as well as 10" at the rear. It was armed with its trademark 4000rpm spinning drum and lifting forks, which were blue and white in color. Yeti was originally an alternate in its debut season, but was allowed in due to one of the many drop-outs which occurred during filming for ABC Season 2. Yeti is a heavyweight robot which competed in four seasons of the BattleBots reboot, including Discovery Season 6 where it was entered by Team C2 Robotics.
